Description
Seven years have passed since Richard left Jump City, but on a humid summer afternoon Richard returns to the city. During his time in Louisiana he had grown out his hair, the people that he ended up staying with didn't mind men with long hair, and Richard's mind was a mess so he wasn't going to focus on something like that. Time also played with his facial features, he looked more so like a young man than when he left. Richard would never forgive Slade, but he was able to cope with what happened, and put it behind him. He walked off of the plane and to the nearest exit, he may have forgave what Slade did, but he knew Red would be a little hard to talk to. Red had stopped sending him letters, and postcards after year four. Then the other ceased calling Richard the year after. Red was an easy going kid, but he couldn't take betrayal very well, and Richard knew that what he did hurt him badly. When he opened the door to leave the building, Richard was greeted with the hot air, and scent of Jump city. Despite what may come in the near future he couldn't help but inhale a deep breath, and smile. He missed his city, his home.Richard soon hailed a taxi, and asked to go to the address. The cabbie looked at him with a raised brow before speaking. "No one's lives there, at least not anymore?" Richard became perplexed, did Red move to avoid being found? "That's not possible." Richard replied after a few seconds. The man turned around, and started to drive. "You see there was this kid that lived there. And apparently the cops have been after him for a while for sealin' all kinds of things. One day about five years ago the cops got this call about a stink comin' from the house. When cops arrive they found all kinds of stolen items. If you ask me the kid was a real nut." Richard scowled at the side comment as the man coughed lightly in the middle of his story. When he finished coughing he continued. "Anyways, after lookin' around the house they figured that the scent was coming from the bathroom. They opened the door and found some kid laying in the bathtub. They said that the kid had been there for a long while, but his skin and shit. The kid was a red head, and all the red heads I know are shit crazy, so this didn't surprise me." The driver finished off with a shrug.
This news stopped Richard's heart. Red killed himself? He blamed himself, and now was angry for it. "Pull over!" Richard yelled as he gathered his things. The driver pulled onto the sidewalk, and Richard opened the door. Before the driver could say what the price was Richard tossed a fifty at him, and left. He slammed the door shut before walked down the street. Why would Red do something like that? Why did he have to leave? Why couldn't he have just stayed? Richard growled lightly, before taking his anger out on a garbage can in front of him. He kick the object before he started walking again. Red didn't seem that upset or hurt over the phone, then again Richard never noticed even when they were together. The young man then decided he was going to find out what the story was, it was five years old, but he would be able to find information. He had to for Red's and his sake. Slade might catch wind of Richard's arrival, but Richard didn't care. The man waited seven years, he can wait another couple of weeks.

I like this work but Red died?! (Huge pout) But...wait...does this mean our dear main character will need a shoulder to cry on possibly? Ohhhhhhhh! (In Sherlock Holmes Deduction Mode)
