Description
here it is, as promised XD if its hard to read, i have written out the steps below. this tutorial was made for 3D models with editable textures. this method on a photograph would be extremely basic and would require more advanced skills to make the make up realistic. for photographs i would suggest looking up a proper tutorial for "photoshop make up"
1) open your texture
2) open XPS/XNA so you can preview as you go, then go to the brush tool in photoshop
3) i have no idea what that scribble is. pose your two programs side by side.
4) choose a black brush, in a good size and sweep across the eyeline for the eyeliner. if the socket area is flesh coloured, fill that with black or whatever colour eyeliner you're using.
5) repeat on the other eye. press F8 to preview your make up so far :3
6) set brush opacity to 30%
7) choose a big and soft brush.
8) choose "color" mode.
9) sweep the brush across the eyelids in one stroke. do not break the pressure or you will have blobs of darker colour. press F8 in xps to preview
10) sweep along only the crease lines in one stroke to make darker. use the burn tool to darken it further if you want, use it on "midtones" option.
11) use the same settings for the lips, if you want to change their colour.
12) if you want to change your existing eyeshadow to a different shade, use the color brush to go over it. but use it on 100% opacity this time.
13) if you want a more natural eyeliner, replace the black with brown using the same steps as before. you can use any colour you want for eyeliner. you cant use the colour tool on pure black.
14) experiment with these steps to create something unique like a darker kind of make up. i used my own make up for the last two panels XD.
15) and you're done! play about with the settings and colours to make something truly your own c: hope this shittily made tutorial helps somebody xD

No, that isn't your fault. It was my fault because I didn't told you I am a boy earlier
So, that's mean you like me and I am mean to you

for the make up, i prefer to use PS directly in the final render, i have more freedom to change it with a clean face
but this is a great technique for someone who wants to do it the other way!
nice tutorial emmie

>.< im not taking any requests for a while honey, sorry :c plus the hair for me takes so long it'd take one hell of a tutorial and tbh im not even sure how i'd break it into steps. if the tutorial was the one on youtube of the girl painting hair onto lara, thats the one i used. and i just...practiced the hell out of it lol

ohhhh >.< this tutorial is really for use on 3D model textures as they arent as real as real skin which would require different brushes and everything.. i should clarify that the same basic technique applies but you'd need proper skin brushes and a tablet i would think.

their beautiful freckles D:!!! but yeah the retouching is very very good in the first one. tiny bit blotchy in the second but i should imagine smoothing out that many freckles and keeping the skintone even is extremely difficult.
but freckles = ♥

ohh this is really nice although its a bit more difficult doing this with FFXIII faces since their eyes are weirdly shaped on the texture >.< lool
but i like the idea with the eyeshadow and lips ^^ might definatly use this at some point ^^ thanks for sharing

MamaMangle In reply to WondrousMoogle [2014-02-11 11:32:47 +0000 UTC]
yeah the technique would have to be altered slightly for different head shapes - just as you do in real life c: some models look good with heavby make up like jills does, the ff faces wouldnt suit it at all XD they'd need very soft shadows for their faces c: but thank you! and yeah those eyes are really weird xD like slanted upwards haha. its best to do it with post work instead with those weird slanty textures XD
