Description Finished him today! Yeah! Can't believe I posted the Work-in-Progress at the end of March and only get around to finishing him now! D:

It's Ichigo, from BLEACH. If you aren't up to around chapter 165 (6? 7?) of the manga though then I guess this is sort of a spoiler. <_< Uh... not sure if the Visored stuff will ever show up in the anime, though. They're really different so maybe not? Well, you'll figure it out.

It took so long to paint him. And get him off the wooden base I had him on before (He stands by himself! Score!). I learned lots of stuff from this one (first time making a figure ever) so the next one will be better. Not sure who I'll do next. I want to do most of the Bleach cast, plus some original characters and other things. Should be fun. But they'll have to wait a month or so (until I'm on holidays again).

--
Super Sculpey, arcrylic paint, wire... lots of small brushes. And patience. LOTS of patience.
Time: Lost track... Definitely in the dozens of hours though. D: I'll get faster, I swear!

Ichigo and BLEACH are © Kubotite. And probably Vis... and Shonen Jump, I think. Not mine, anyway. I just make crappy models.

Self-healing-cutting-board-brutha! XD

Good, isn't it? I no longer live in fear of destroying the varnish finish on my table.

Woops.

Thankfully this particular table isn't all that special so even without the cutting board I need not worry too much. ;D

AAHHH! That is sooo amazing!!!! I can't even take it, how h-how did you do that!?! I am sooooo amazed! Dude like hollow/Vizard Ichigo is like the sexyest thing ever, well other than Shinji Hirako, who is the best character in Bleach! You should do him next!

OMG I love Shinji too! Isn't he the best? The moment he turned up (hanging upside down...from the sky XD) I was like "O_O INSTANT NEW FAVOURITE CHARACTER!"

Ah, I'd make him but I'm afraid I'd screw up his hair. >_> Got to do a character with easy hair next, I reckon.

I wish I had the patience to do something like this. I have to admit I have no idea who the character is, but even so, its obvious how much you put into him and the hair is just spiffy as is that mask. Nice work. Makes me want to break out the plasticine and inflict my malformed creatures on the world! XD

your bleach sculpt is most excellent, wish my first sculpture turned out that good ..

I just got to look at your work in progress, and it looks a lot smoother then after the paint was applied.. i'd really reccomend getting ubercheap craft paints , thin em out, then go at it slowly with thin coats of it.. it requires more patience (it really tests mine a lot lol) , but it'll give a smoother feel..

i'll DEFINATELY have to try rolling out the sculpey and applying it in thin sheets next time i do a figure, i really love the effect it has, the clothign work you did is gorgeous

A lot of the imperfections were easier to see after the baking, too, I found. I've since heard that some people sand their sculptures, and use ethanol before baking to smooth things down. So I may make an attempt at those methods eventually...

I'll definitely try that tip with the paint. Even though it'll take a zillion hours by the sound of it. D: I guess that way you can get smoother gradients with the paints as well?

The thin sheets are really easy to do! And the tearing pattern you can get by tearing the sheets is kind of cool, too. It's a bit difficult to control how the sculpey tears, though.

Thank you so much for the comment. It was very helpful.

well, you don't have to spend *that* long lol.. and you can always hit the thin layers with a blowdryer to speed up drying as well

with gradients you can do a variety of different things, you can lay down your primary color and do washes (can give a really cool antiqueing look and really bring out textures), or you can work a lil thicker and mix the colors and blend them on the figure, or nitpick or a while variety ^^

i'm really itching to with with the thin sheet method you're doing, you achieved really nice effects with that, been so busy i haven't been able to sculpt T_T

Aah, blow dryer. I swear the only time I use that thing is when I'm drying clay or paint. Wet hair never comes into it. XD

I tried to do a bit of gradient with his hair, but I think it didn't come out strong enough. Next time I'll mess with gradients for shading stuff and making clothing more interesting ('cause plain black and white is BORING. Man). Maybe I could work in a pattern or something. We shall see.

And sculpt! Do eet! D: And post progress shots, so I can observe and steal your talents and things. Maybe you'll have a vacation soon?

Only up to chapter 9? D: Oh noes! I have spoiled you! ...But we all knew it was going to happen, so eh. >_> The manga rocks so hard. Not sure how I feel about the anime - have only seen up to 16 or something. It's different.

I'll get to Renji eventually. Well, it'll have to wait another month and a bit. Then I'll have lots of time (summer vacation! ). I'm not sure who I'll do next. A couple people have wanted a Renji now... Gawd, painting his tattoos would kill me.

Absolutely horrid, yes. But Erina (from Uni) made an even worse pun today (truly gawdawful augh) so you are forgiven.

Everyone likes the hair. I'm personally quite proud of the markings on the mask. Keeping your hand steady with a brush that small is hard.

hehehe... I imagine it would be.

check out some of =sya 's stuff.... quite amazing.
(if you look hard, there is some sculpey stuff... some roses and a very cool dragon)

I seem to be the master of bad jokes at the moment.

I like Especially his hair

I'm so glad for the socks being in his actual design though. Else I'd have had to make individual toes. D: I don't think I'm ready for that kind of commitment. T_T
