I SPENT HOURS ON THIS mostly adjusting the plating and colors than anything hsjdkfgkhdfg. this is my last prehistoric-based hhoc, shen hai(深海) the dunkleosteus demon- or just hai for short. she was a naval officer from ancient china, though she had to shed some blood here n there to get where she was.

she's basically a shitty mulan; born ying yue (映月), hai was expected to grow up to be the perfect wife and mother just like any other woman during ancient china: quite, obedient and forever faithful to her husband and loyal to her sons should she have any. hai...well, she opposed all of this. not that she ever had a say in it, her parents ensured she would fill the role she was born for. at 19, she married and had one child not too long after. she still wasnt happy...how could she be? she was property for fuck's sake! she always dreamed to relish in the same privileges men had! one day, barely a year of marriage, hai killed her husband and left the child for dead as she escaped. she stayed on the down low since, presenting as a (castrated) man under a different alias for several years. for most of her life, she spend a lot of time on sea expeditions, only returning to china to present new discoveries. she adored her new life, living the Dream for the next two or three decades until she met her end in a shipwreck, with much of her discoveries falling to obscurity in the following years.

banished to hell for her crimes and overall disgustingly selfish nature, hai adapted rather quickly and lurks within the depths of the underworld's seas since, using her navigational skills and newfound abilities for new adventures and whatever food she could get her wet hands on
