Well, this ain’t just R-type but with loads of cuteness like witches, fairies, colorful willow candies, etc.. I know that one of cute shoot em ups on PC Engine CD and X68000 comes an upcoming remake called “Cotton Reboot” flying to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam in Japan February 2021 and Worldwide later this Spring.
