I think what makes this really stand out is how it hits the rule of thirds pretty well. The field of view is split with horizontal bands with the pond/overflow, then the trees, then the sky. But also you have a diagonal set of counter points between the low point in the hills and the cusp of the pond. We don't always have to stick to rules, but sometimes when it comes together, it works out great.
