I kinda of figured that it was taken at Yellowstone I too took many photos mostly of the wildlife as there is so much just roaming around But you were very lucky to catch a elk as I found them very skittish of humans.   So I went just as the Sun was rising and caught 3 different types of deer on my camera

They say the best time to see the Wildlife at Yellowstone is at Sunrise and at Sunset,  Except for the Bison they can be seen everywhere throughout the park

Yes! I got more of the sunset animals than the sunrise ones though. I'm definitely not a morning person!
