Description

As required by law, I must provide some form of reference sheet of my giant monster characters to aid anyone who has to draw them for some reason. Also this is to help myself get more consistent with the designs, scale, colors, and so on.  I’m not that particular about my designs when other people try, especially since I'm not fully decided on most of the designs myself... and it's often done as a gift.  I'm actually more interested to see how other people would interpret the ideas, rather than copy them exactly.  If time and energy permits, I'll see if I can make a more detailed sheets for each of my main characters.

As always, constructive feedback on how to improve is more than welcome!

Amanda Armadillo Ironclad-
Cold, disciplined and commanding.

During an investigation of a recent meteor strike, the US military discovered an abnormally large armadillo infected by some sort of strange alien microbes.  The military promptly captured the armadillo for research.  Soon, more reports of meteor strikes followed with attacks from impossibly large animals.  The controversial decision was made to mold the mutant wild armadillo, Amanda, into fearless killing machine.

Amanda’s abilities are a lethal combination of agility, precision, and brute force.  Her extremely resilient armor, super strength, super endurance, and combat training means she easily take down some of the fiercest foes. With a well-aimed strike to the ground, Amanda can even manipulate the surrounding earth into a variety of weapons, traps, and defenses.

----------------
Sydney Armadillo Armstrong-
The warm gentle brute.

Sydney was just another armadillo struck by a passing car.  Miraculously he survived and was taken in by a family of a scientist, veterinarian, and their daughter.  Over time Sydney recovered and soon became the family’s new pet.  One an unknown mutated creature wandered on their property, feasting on anything in its way.  Sydney managed to distract the creature before it could break into his adopted family’s home, however the creature managed to take a serious bite into Sydney.  The scientist shot the unknown creature as the armadillo was violently thrown into the bushes.  The family was ordered to leave their home while the authorities investigated.  Three weeks later the scientist was permitted to return to their house to inspect the damage.  In the kitchen he found Sydney, now the size of a large dog, rummaging through their rotting food.  In secret, the scientist continued to raise and study Sydney in an isolated portion of forest.  In less than a year Sydney grew to over 100m.  One day, the scientist suddenly stopped visiting.  In search of the family that raised him, Sydney wandered close to a nearby city only to discover it was under attack from a dragon like behemoth.    After a brief fight, Sydney slammed the dragon’s broken body deep into the ground.  His victory was short lived, as his arm was suddenly pulled back and an armored fist uppercut him in the chin. Sydney regained consciousness, now chained and sealed in a concrete room.  The steel door slide open revealing another armadillo, scowling with her fists clenched ready to strike him again…

Sydney may try his best to be a gentle giant, but his almost impenetrable armor and sheer brute strength means he can easily tear a rampaging monster in half.  Sydney can even shape the very tectonic plates he stands on into flesh slicing mountains, bottomless sinkholes,  and even literal tsunamis of earth.

-----------------
Jack Lucifer Ravage-
Cunning, rash, and sadistic.

Jack’ life began a as typical pet rabbit, born on a farm and sold to a pet store.  However the owner that purchased Jack was far from typical.  Shortly after arriving at his new home, the rabbit was thrown hard into a dark shed littered with other small animals shriveled and whimpering in pain.  The rabbit endured almost daily beatings, often being thrown into a pen with half-starved fighting dogs or fighting the other broken animals for what little food they were given. Miraculously, Jack managed to survive through months of his tormentor’s “care”.  One day Jack’s routine of agony was suddenly interrupted when half the of the dismal shack caved in.  An unknown creature the size of house bleeding and moaning it’s final breath crashed down.  Wallowing through the pools of blood, Jack’s freedom was brief as he was quickly seized by another group humans in hazmat suits.  His new home, a stark industrial like laboratory cage surrounded by animals of various sizes and states of mutation.  Over months of excruciating experiments, Jack transferred to increasingly larger rooms housed with even bigger and more vicious animals.  The rabbit’s luck finally turned around when he managed to provoke a particularly aggressive beast to break out of its restraints and go on an indiscriminate rampage to the exit.  Seizing the opportunity, Jack gnawed through his restraints and kicked open his damaged cage.  Sprinting through the destruction of the other beast, Jack burst through the final door into the wilderness as the other creature laid in a pool of its own blood.  Finally free, Jack’s once skittish behavior now morphed into sadistic rage. Any creature that dared to attack him was skinned alive and any human in his reach forced to suffer a fate 10,000 times worse than he ever endured.

Even as a 80m tall titan, Jack’s speed and agility go unmatched.  Bullets and rockets are easily swatted down like toy foam darts. The most nimble super predators, simply sided stepped. Even in midair, he can out maneuver some of the most advanced fighter jets. His equally quick wits and sharp senses means he often three steps ahead of anything that dares to get in his way.

-----------------
The Mississippi Queen/ Missi-
A compassionate, manipulative, monarch.

Missi once lived in a beautiful forest with her 12 children clinging to her back.  Her peaceful existence was soon destroyed when a beast larger than the tallest trees rampaged through, swarmed by hundreds of humans attacking it with their death machines.  Missi tried to seek shelter in a tree, only for it to come crashing down in flames.  With her children still clinging to her back, she sprinted for a nearby cave.  Just then an explosion violently launched her into another tree.  Now covered in blood, Missi reached the mouth of the cave only find that none of her children were on her back.  She turned to see their scattered remains near a crater, whimpering for their mother.  She could not return as rapidly approaching wall of fire forced her to hide deep into the cave.  When the chaos eventually subsided, Missi wandered out from the cave to find nothing remained of her one luscious home except craters, ash, and the remains of the creature now dominating the barren landscape.  Desperate for survival, she wallowed through lakes of the creature’s blood, mixing with her own wounds, as radioactive ash slowly rained down from the sky. Eventually she found a new much bleaker home over looking a city rapidly sprawling over the remnants of withering wilderness. Her attempts to hide from the humans became increasingly difficult as she gradually out sized the trees and the human city once distant now took over much of the landscape. One day she noticed some very odd activity coming from the city.  A rabbit, easily the size of her and many of the human hives ripping through the soulless stone cubes with a smirk as thousands of the tiny critters begged for his mercy.  To her shock, the rabbit’s attention snapped to her. Before she could even react, the rabbit dashed through the dozens of miles sprawl separating them.  She was explosively pinned to the ground, the rabbit’s piercing red eyes locked onto hers holding a carved bone dagger moments away from piercing into her throat.  Just then, a painful surge of visions flashed through both creatures’ minds.  For the opossum it was a tsunami of everything she lost,  the caged torment of the rabbit’s past, and the ever present humans fueling their agony.  Stunned by the opossum’s “attack,” Jack lurched back.  Missi could sense the rabbit’s impulses to stab her. However, in slurry of emotions the rabbit bolted off.  Her mind still racing in pain, she limped upright.  She knew the humans would not stop until all life was consumed.  She knew was the one that must stop the plague.

Missi’s abilities of deception and control are a true fit for the self-proclaimed Queen of the Monsters. She can blur the lines between life and death, not only with her ability to fake death but also with the ability to reincarnate beasts from beyond the grave as long as there is a body to control and even project ghostly incarnations of herself or any other beast she sees fit.  Creatures of the living are also not safe from her influence as she can read minds using the ability to stay one step ahead of her foes, persuade them to join her army of monsters, or give them an incredibly painful scratch to the brain. Even her relatively slender body and tails pack a deceptive hit with enough strength to crush animals her size.

-----------------
Roko Raccoon Artifex-
A crafty acquisitive mercenary.

Roko’s origins begin as a typical racoon seeking shelter for the day in a tree next to a seldom used railroad track cut into the side of a mountain.  While the racoon was in a deep slumber, the tracks began to rumble as a train rapidly approached. The soil uphill form the neglected track began to shift as the vibrations worsened.  The driver had no time react as a large boulder knocked the tracks out of alignment.  The raccoon was jolted awake when one of the tumbling train cars smashed his tree over. The racoon was soon buried in a wave of twisted steel, splintered wood, and earth.  Miraculously Roko survived, trapped inside the wreckage of one the train cars.  Desperate to escape, Roko began to chew and claw open several heavy plastic bags labeled biohazard now thrown around the car.  The contents of the bags spilled over, dumping blood and chunks of putrid meat from some unknown creature on top of Roko already cut and bleeding from the accident.  The raccoon eventually found an escape from his prison, sneaking past the authorities attempting to secure the area.  Even within days of the incident, the racoon began to notice changes in his size and intelligence. After a month, he was nearly four times bigger than what a raccoon should be.  Roko quickly realized he could not avoid human contact forever, so he took matters into his own claws.  It started with intimidation, and evolved into negotiation. Exploiting the hypocrisies of human society, Roko continued to grow in size, intelligence, and infamy protecting humans for a fee or throwing them to the wolves if they refuse.

Raccoons a crafty, intelligent, sneaky little bandits and Roko is certainly no exception.  Roko could be described as a supercomputer with claws and teeth.  Roko will often have his next 10 moves planned out before his opponent can even spell “plan.”  His extremely dexterous paws allow him to handle human sized objects with surprising ease while also expanding on his ability to craft a variety of weapons, traps, and tools.  Even as a 65m behemoth, Roko proves to be a surprisingly stealthy and nimble creature slipping through even the most cramped urban jungles with ease.
