So this is how I do work three days a week. I photograph people learning how to surf at Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. This is the website for the surf school I work with [link] most of the photos on there are mine as well.I love doing this job, I get to combine two of my favorite things in life, surfing and photography.

I wish I'd heard about you BEFORE I went to Waikiki!!! I was on my honeymoon and went surfing our first full day there. Took a long board out since I'm pretty much a newbie, but I managed to get a few waves and it was the thrill of a lifetime! How I would have loved to have some pictures and yours look like the best there are. There's a way that you capture the wildlife and ocean spirit that gives me goosebumps.

Dude i love the camera set up, wish i had something like that...just the Cannon body for DSLR would be awesome.
I have a 35mm film Canon but with film getting harder to get, devlop, and print i need to switch....dang the money issue.
Man i also miss home...Big Island, puna side, Pahoa/Kalapania. Guess its a surf trip when i can afford it.

ah...such a life! It always cracked me up when I lived in Hawaii how the tourists would come for a week and expect they would be surfers at the end of that week, but it was so fun to watch. And as long as they have fun I guess that's what matters. Great shot of you too hon!

That is sooo cool! You get to do the things you love the most in one of the most beautiful places in the world and still get paid for it. A lot of people would love to have a job like that (me included)...

Everytime I see any of your photos, it reminds me of how much fun I had in Hawaii and how cool it was to learn to surf. I may not be a pro at it, but even just getting to sit on a board and bob in the waves is nice enough for me. It sort of made me understand why so many people love to surf, especially in such a beautiful place such as Hawaii.

The short while I got to stay in Hawaii on the main island I had an incredible time and I even got to learn how to surf, I remember sitting out on the waves with my instructor and he points down into the water and we see this gorgeous, big old Green sea turtle swimming through the water with all the other surfers. It was such an amazing thing to witness, considering I've pretty much spent the majority of my life here in Texas since I was 8.
You really are lucky to do your favorite things and in such a beautiful place, I hope to visit Hawaii again some day and go surfing again and I plan on taking all my friends with me!
