A DSLR with a focal length of 10mm... You were obviously in the water when you took this, but how?

the ones I use go for about $1800.

Hectic! I bought my D5100 for $630... Does it allow for underwater photography (ie diving) or only for applications like this?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

manaphoto In reply to donnymurph [2012-02-16 03:56:33 +0000 UTC]

It does allow for underwater photography, but not too deep, 20 feet max.

FSGPhotography [2009-12-30 16:50:33 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's awesome.
I adore the colours and how you can see the sand through the water. You used the perfect shutter speed to capture the texture of the wave.
The only thing that I don't like is how tilted the horizon is. I think if you straightened it up it would be better.

This is a brilliant shot, and taken under what must have been difficult conditions (I imagine, at least. Never having shot in water before, I haven't a clue). Well done.

manaphoto In reply to FSGPhotography [2009-12-31 01:27:13 +0000 UTC]

Thank u very much and thanks for your feedback. I don't think I want to sacrifice any of the image by straightening the horizon, there would be too much lost when you crop it. Have you seen some of my other water shots where the horizon is straight, you might like those even better.
