well it doesn't take a genius to read the date right under the picture and put two and two together. Why would you waste your time commenting on this when you could focus your attention towards something else and PERHAPS post a comment that would be more productive for you or the artist. I mean, that's the point of DeviantArt and all your doing is starting a meaningless spat like we are having now, and it's completely ignorant and immature and is completely avoidable.
I mean seriously, if you don't like something, MOVE ON and find something you like and comment, or perhaps help someone who wants a critique and do something worthwhile. I've seen people with your attitude get banned, and do you seriously see me talking about how much I like this picture? No.
You sound like bratty child who needs a good whip on the back, and if you keep this up you're going to make too many enemies.
And why are you trying to be rude anyways? I mean, what are you trying to prove? I'm willing to be cooperative if you wish to come to some sort of resolvement like a MATURE ADULT because I honestly do not like to argue with people or have any reason to be angry for any reason.

uhh, yes, you do have to mature. You're not going to be 13 forever, and you're being extremely rude, especially to your elder. I am not being immature here. I ACTUALLY go to an art college and know more about these things than you do about the proper respects towards an artist and to other people because unlike you, I don't say things to other people purposely that will tick them off. How am I being immature? I am reacting naturally from an irritating, disobedient comment, and I was even trying to make a comprimise to you earleir. And unlike you, I don't go around barking to other people about their art if I don't like it. I keep those opinions to myself and encourage rather that discourage. I help them if they ask for help, and I found that a negative comment never helped anyone.
Yes, but you also defied my concerns when I had clearly stated that I do not want critiques. That is placed there for a reason and you should respect it. If it wasn't meant to be an option, it wouldn't have been an option here on Deviantart.
I know critiquing is important, I am critiqued all the time at school. I critique other people, and other people critique me. Critiquing is usually only helpful in the progress of the work, not after it is done. What are you going to do to a finished art piece? start over? draw over it? I only take criitiques if you happen to be in the design or fine art industry, I say that I really want it, or unless it's of my proffessors. I will not accept critiques on old or finished art, especially on an artwork I did 3 years ago. Logically, a critique on something like this, especially when I said I do not want them, is not helpful in any shape or form and it is endlessly aggrivating. And c'mon, it's not like i'm going to draw it over again or anything. It's old news and I've been ignoring this thing for about the same amount of time.
yes, but the younger age in this case is the better because it is better that you know how much even the slightest mis-comment can set someone off. And i'm not going to physically do anything to you, so it's not really anything serious. I've seriously seen people who badmouth other people on Deviant Art get banned, one after the other, and all it does is stir up anger in the art community.
Next time when it says "Critiques Discouraged" or whatever, abide by it or don't make any comment at all.
and by the way, critiquing isn't an artist's life. It's a part of it, but it's not what we live for. It's too complex for you to understand.

There you even said that you were being rude, and I even agreed when I said that I thought the picture looked bad anyways.I already know all the flaws and then some of my image here, I just don't need the obvious flaws pointed out again. I can understand if some things bother you about it, but it's not like I'm going to be able to change it anyways. Maybe if you didn't say "I know you said no critiquing" and just left it to "Sakura's head bothers me" I wouldn't have been so harsh. In fact, I woud've agreed with you because, yes, her head is too small.
All I said was that it was old and I did not want a critique, end of story. When me or anyone else has it stated that we don't want a critique, there is usually a good reason for it.
Critiques are meant to help someone advance and learn from their work, you wouldn't critique a work you did in grade 4, let's say if your in high school. It wouldn't be the least bit helpful, and timing does matter because the person's skill may be far past then (or it may not be, it all depends), and it can be belittling as well.
Maybe if it was on something I've done in the past year, It would make more sense, you maybe you could put your critique in the form of a suggestion when I say I do not want a critique, I would've listened more.
And it's not really a comment I can ignore. And I'm very confused with what you're saying, first you say you like it, than you say that you don't like the things about it, it doesn't make sense to me.
I do take criticism, but only during the in-progress stages of my work where I can work out my mistakes while the image is still being made and where it will be more impacting. I also take it when the picture I made is much newer and it is at a state in which I am at in my skill. I don't mind it then, but when the art is old... I've already moved past then, and even learned from my mistakes from it and have worked past it. It feels belittling when critiquing is done on an old piece because it's like all the work that I've done to advance to where I am now is completely ignored and not even considered. I know I'm not amazing, but I still don't draw like that anymore! D:
I don't mean when I say "no critiques" to ask for sugar-coated comments, but perhaps something that is a bit more constructive and not harsh. Not just me, but many of my other friends and people I know who have gotten head-biting comments or discouraging critiques lose their drive to want to improve to draw and wind up not drawing for months. It can be very fickle, but when they ask for a critique or an advanced critique, the kind of comment you gave me should be just fine. They are looking for that kind of feedback.
Like maybe if you said something like "I think Sakura's head seems a bit too small", I would've taken a look at it again and said something like "oh, you're right! it's like she can grab her face in her hands!" and I woudn't have taken your comment so offensively.
