I like this. Kind of morbid, but hitting the right spot tonight...or perhaps i am simply afraid of death with the rest of the masses. I like the wash of color in the background.

It is morbid, you should see the piece I'm working on now, I'm coloring it using pastels so it'll take a while to finish (it derives its premise from this piece). I have to admit the wash in the background was due entirely to my shitty camera phone quality. R.I.P. scanner.

What a magnificent concept. I like the screaming souls at his feet. And I say "souls" because they look like that to me more than skulls. Though the skull in his hand is pretty stellar. ^_^

Why thank you! I enjoyed doing that piece, I'm using the little oul skull concept again in a piece for my AP art studio class im doing in pastels, I believe it'll be my first colored piece to go on Deviantart (that's if I ever finish it!)

Are you going to use oil pastels or traditional chalk type? The oil pastels are so much fun to work with. And they seem to create their own highlights and contrasts all by themselves. (Alot like airbrushing.) Have fun with it and I'll be looking for the finished work.

I'm not exactly sure, these are new to me, theyre like colored pencils. I love them with all my heart haha
