Well many/some furries "specialize" in one species.
With nekos - They're not furries in my point of view. However, there is no real definition of a furry. Some don't consider cartoon characters as furries. Some only say that - feral furries who speak - are furries.
There's really no "Hierarchy" to tell anyone what to do, what is Furry what is not.
Some will say - you love furries, well then you're one of them
