For my first attempt it turned out pretty well, though I find I had the same difficulty as you.
So I tried putting the glitter down first and then adding water, seemed to work!

I gave up after a couple of attempts, I think I'll practice my droplet skills first, Thanks for tip, I'll try that next time

I tried on orchid petals (they're fairly waxy) then I tried a plate and a plastic coated board, I think patience will be key for me
