Anyone else remember how terrifying Ocarina of Time was? There was so terrifying stuff in that game. I remember going to castle town for the first time and just barely missing the gate and then having a zombie horde rise out of the ground around me. Scared the shit out of me. And then there is the boss mob in the well. I think I completely blacked out that terrifying memory. That's one of the more terrifying bosses in any game I've played. I'll let you in on a secret. You can force it out of the ground without letting its arms grab you if you manage to light a bomb over its hiding place and set if off. Much easier to do with the Lens of Truth, but still possible if you're lucky enough with your guesswork.

Wow, this is so amazing! You did such a great job on all those creepy Zelda baddies. As a child, I had a lot of nightmares about ReDeads. They scared me so much, I had a really hard time playing the parts of the game where they were.
As such, I feel Ocarina of Time is one of the creepiest non-horror games ever.

Beside the hardness of beating the boss battles that's also a reason why I let a friend beat the bosses. I couldn't handle the horror of this game. Just fishing or riding around the plains of Hyrule was enough to enjoy this game for me. Annoying some chiccin.

They definitely designed some creepy critters for that game.

For me it was the skulltullas, specifically the curse on the skulltulla house. It combined the traditional horror imagery of spiders and skulls, and added this truly terrifying layer of body horror on top of it.
Of course, I also remember being afraid of the Dark World in Link to the Past as a kid. Just the concept of the Dark World used to give me legit nightmares when I was but a pre-teen.

I used to always put off going to the Shadow Temple because it scared me, instead doing the Spirit Temple first. Now, I still do Spirit first, but only so I can get the mirror shield sooner.

Some parts were creepy, yes. And some of them caused that I wasn't able to eat properly. Some gave me chills and made me feel sick... what a weird game...

Good, yes. I was about 8 years old when OoT came out and I was terrified of many things in that game. I was scared of being in Hyrule Field at night because of the stalchildren, especially the giant one. The redeads creep me out until today and the Well was straight up traumatizing. After getting so scared in the bloody well I let a friend do the Shadow Temple for me while I was hiding under some covers. Haven't stepped a food in it myself until I was 17, lmao.
Fantastic art, I love how you rendered it and it really captures the horror that lurks inside that game. I like how Link looks like he's feeling the impending doom but is scared to turn around. I can relate to his "I've met with a terrible fate, haven't I" face.
