Description
From the brother's Grimm fairy tale. A short fairy tale retelling of The Six Swans. Originally by the brother's Grimm. A girl must save her cursed brothers by sewing shirts for them out of nettles. She can't speak until the task is finished. You can download my retelling at www.smashwords.com/books/view/… or read it on my blog. manelleoliphant.com/the-six-sw…Related content

I love seeing the multiple layers that can rewrite the whole feeling. The fire in the background, that most would avoid adding in or focus on to much, gives so much more strong an atmosphere. Very well done.

I know this story! Didn't know it was a brother's Grimm fairy tale too.. ^^ I read the Sevenwaters Trilogy, written by Juliet Marillier. The first one is called Daughter of the Forest, and that is her own version of that story. I like it very much so if you're interested, please read it. Just a suggestion.
Good work with the painting!

Actually I just read the first one. I started the second but never finished. I guess it just didn't capture my interest as much. I love her other series though. Wildwood Dancing and Cybele's secret.

I liked the first one the most, but I do think the two books after need some time getting into it.. But if you didn't like them.. ^^ Everyone has his/her own opinion. Never read any of her other books though.. My favorite book (still fantasy.. x3); Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. Much more interesting.. ^^
Anyways, keep up the good work.

Ah, love this fairytale! You did a great job capturing the feeling of the story. I also keep getting draw back the smoke: it looks perfectly ethereal, and I love the way it looks against the sky.

Oh thanks! I was thinking the smoke would work great in watercolor. I'm glad you think it does. Made my day!
