First time writing a critique... well, here goes nothing.
First off, I would like to say that it's amazing how clean this piece is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the background pattern seems to have also been done by hand. Overall, it looks amazing because of the crisp lines, smooth gradients, goo color mixing and fine lining. I'm quite honestly jealous myself as I'm not really good with watercolor or acrylics at all.
I also really like the use of color. The complementary color scheme makes the character pop out more. The use of purple and orange in shading also makes it more life-like and the small dabs of green here and there make the whole piece look more cohesive and not just a subject juxtaposed with a pattern for its background.
Now, a bit on my nitpicks. His right eye (the eye on your left) looks a bit too small and both his eyes look to be a bit too far apart. I don't know if it's because the eyes are small or if it's just the angle and positioning, but remember: the distance between both eyes should be one eye. Also the hair looks a bit flat. Some highlights or heavier shading near the bottom and back or near the sides of his face would fix this. Also, since individual strands were picked out in a darker shade, it would also be nice to see individual strands picked out in a highlight color like pink or light yellow.
Overall though, the technique and execution are really good and this piece deserves quite an amount of praise.
