❥ It’s up to Jia Hao to be the class’s hopelessly happy-go-lucky smile cure! His optimistic side causes him to not enjoy looking on
  the downside of things, instead learning how to improve himself and experiences for others!! If someone’s in need of help, he
  strongly intends to help them and anyone else who’s struggling as he loves being an amiable character, finding enjoyment in
  successfully assisting a fellow peer.
  Jia’s altruistic actions are always out of genuine kindness, always wanting to treat and pamper someone that he enjoys being
  around! Because, if they make him happy, then he just has to return the same feelings! Compliments are also a free gift that
  could make anyone’s day, at least in Jia’s opinion. He feels as if he has something nice to say, it crawls under his skin all day until
  he actually says it! Some people could take his flattery as an attempt at a date, but in actuality he’s just trying to be nice!

Convenient for others, not-so-much for him, a kind and generous soul proves to be quite the pushover yet again. Jia Hao
  tends to strictly place himself in a small box that doesn’t allow him to feel free enough to try new things, mainly because it
  doesn’t feel right to him. Hesitance and sheepishness tells him that he won’t enjoy something himself, or always make a fool
  of himself somehow. He’s yet another wonderful example of ’jack of all trades, master of none’. He never found anything he’s
  particularly good at, therefore sort of pitying himself when he surrounds himself with people he admires, or people he finds
  that they’re leagues better than him.
  Jia Hao also seems to have prided himself in his maintaining of a “purer” or more naïve mind, but in this day and age,
  if you aren’t caught up on today’s lingo, you aren’t cool. So, often, he doesn’t know half the things kids are talking about.

Jia Hao was born to a quiet family in a quiet house in a quiet town. As a child, he was equally as quiet as his surroundings. The
second son’s silence wavered underneath the sunlight and among the leaves. Born eight years after his older brother, he was treated
as the baby no matter his age or how tall he ended up growing. Even so, there were expectations that his family wanted him to meet,
though they never pushed him too hard. There truly was nothing spectacular or interesting about him, but Jia Hao knew that he
wanted to do something… to be more than ‘good’ or great - to be exceptional.

Hobbies and instruments were shown to him on a platter. Trying new things was a second nature, but committing to them proved to
be terribly difficult. First was piano; of course the boy was intrigued, but the charisma of the instrument itself lost its color to him…
it only fell through his fingertips and he never bothered to pick it back up. The same unfortunate fate occurred to the cello, flute,
acoustic guitar, drums… Nothing stayed.

There simply wasn’t a hobby that he loved. And he was torn.

Yet, at the time he was young. He picked up his last instrument at age eleven before his parents begrudgingly decided to stop giving him
chances. Perhaps an opportunity would come knocking on his doorstep, waiting for him. It was destiny. At least it should be. Right? . . .

It never came.

He was instantly shadowed by his brother, Xiao Dan, who found his calling through the culinary arts. By the time Jia Hao stopped
his talentless endeavors at eleven, Xiao Dan was nineteen and attending a prestigious culinary school overseas through scholarships
alone. Before he left, he’d given his little brother an old polaroid camera. But that didn’t matter. Jia Hao really didn’t use it much after
he left, anyway. He filled his days with being on his secure net and reading shōnen manga.

Jia’s parents, loving as could be, refused to let their youngest son be disheartened, showing him a world of positivity instead. And
Jia Hao embraced it.

Until he broke his arm. He was just climbing a harmless tree. Not his dominant arm, thank god, but he was at a loss. Jia Hao couldn’t pick
up any instruments even if he really wanted to. He had nothing. Most days he simply lay there, moping, on his bed. As it healed, he had
difficulty doing much at all with just his right arm… But his mom found the camera Xiao Dan gave him before he went overseas while
cleaning around the house, and gave it to her son since he truly didn't do anything at all during the day. His curiosity piqued. Jia would
take the most obscure pictures of random objects strewn around the house, then moved to the outdoors of his house, amazed by its
capabilities to develop the photo right in front of his eyes. He was never the most professional photographer… But it did take up his
afternoons! His thoughts would go away when he was focused on a shot or watching the photo develop. It certainly did lift him up, even if
he wasn’t particularly amazing at taking photos.

His parents gave up trying to make him special… So did Jia Hao himself. At least externally. But he still really did hope… that he was
meant to be here for something. He just wants to be passionate about something he loves.

Yet, everyone can’t get everything they want. In the ever-so-slow days when his arm healed, he loathed every single bit of himself.
Though, with very snap of a polaroid, Jia Hao discovered a strange peace inside of himself. He wasn't good at taking pictures, but they
made him feel good. Normality isn't a sin. So what if he was average? That didn’t matter. Not everyone’s a prodigy.
