Description
This image stands as my summary for the movie. The movie could also be described as: "Holy s--t, JAGUAR!!!!!!!"But honestly, it's a great movie. I was unsure of it buying the ticket, and like many I was all like "I don't know...Mel Gibson..." But you know what? Who cares what he does in his free time and who cares what the media says about him. He made a kick-ass action movie. That's all you need to worry about.

Apocalypto was little more than eye candy. While the clothing, tattooing, and jewelry were dead on, the rest of it was grossly historically inaccurate (I could elaborate, but that would take at least half an hour to type).
And the fact that they ripped off Predator near the end had me laughing HARD.

Brilliant movie!! This scene was funny XD He was quite clever about them too! Love this pic
Although I think people are taking it personally about what he did. So the guy was drunk...c'mon. Doesn't everybody say things they don't mean? He wasn't aware what he was doing.
But this movie was just...wow. I enjoyed it so much! Worth every penny! The gore made me feel a little uncomfortable but overall, everything was great!

omfg I really want to see that movie! I got so pissed at all the South American people getting pissed that Gibson portrayed them violently. All I have to say to them...
"DUH they WHERE!" Mayans were all about self-sacrifice and things like that. Most ancient cultures did not feature people sitting around a campfire singing Kumbaya, okay? xD
Oh yeah, but that guy looks so crazy. I love his expression, and the bees.

We didn't get pissed. And it was not South America, is Central America. It's just that the movie IS pretty bloody (funny bloody), and mayans were not as violent. Aztecs were pretty violent, that's what people are mad about, Mel Gibson did not do a good research, they're mad of people talking without knowing. Must people in my country like it, as a fiction, and I thought it was pretty awesome. We just expected less blood and more history.

But isn't Mel Gibson all about Blood and Violence anyway?

Yeah, that's true. I enjoyed the blood anyway. Have you seen it yet? There was this scene with an specific blood spill, it was hilarious.

Most of the responses I've read are pretty positive. Mel did his best to cast only native actors, even if they're completely unknown, and although it's violent, you're right. That's how it was. War and sacrifice were important. You really should see it. (The lead actor isn't half bad looking, either...)

>3 Sweet. I will definately try and dig up some money to see it. The last movie I saw was "The Fountain" which was pretty good, but I was confused through about half of it.
