Couldn't finish it in time (silly people with birthdays in the first half of January *he he*), but I wanted to post it anyway because I like the way the pencil sketch looks. Hopefully, it won't take me too long to do all those damn lines!! I'll also try to think of a title...

Oh thank you so much! If I remember well (since I switched to tablet only over a year ago) that was simply done with a mechanical pencil.

I love the clean lines, especially seeing as they are pencil lines. I've always had a thing for sketchy sketches; they're more interesting, somehow, and sometimes you can get really cool effects with them. This is not sketchy looking at all! I had to stare for a bit before realizing that it's not inked (I had yet to read your comment XD). Yay for sketches!

I've never been able to do sketchy-looking sketches, because that's just not the way I draw, and I'm really anal about my lines... I ought to force myself to try, just to get a bit further out of my comfort zone.

Hey, it's no problem! Actually, I try to keep all my sketches as clean as possible, too. Sometimes, though, I get really sketchy, but that's mostly 'cuz I'm drawing from real life and not from my imagination. Since we're drawing anime characters, which will most probably be cleaned and colored later, clean lines are preferable most of the time. Or so I think.

I agree with you. I don't think manga/anime characters really go with sketchiness. Well, I say that but I know some artist who do an awesome job at that anyway.

Oh, that's so sweet. You got him spot on. I love the folds in his clothes! That angle strikes me as being a really difficult one to draw a shihakushou from.
