Description I've been playing more 13th age (Tabletop Fantasy RPG) with my friends and my psychotic robot hunter met his demise against a bunch of redcaps. So I had to make a new character and when I got the OK from the Game Master that I could use the Minotaur race from one of the expansion books I knew I'd make some sort of barbarian. Thinking more into it I wanted to give him a ridiculous weapon and when the idea of hitting people with a small tree popped in my head I stuck with it.

So anyway with that, meet Charlie the Minotaur (May change his name later). His unique thing (the thing that defines your character in 13th age) is that he is on a pilgrimage as is tradition with all minotaurs of his tribe. Once they reach adulthood they are tasked to carry a young sapling tree (about the side of hobbit or dwarf) and plant it at a sacred grove near the top of the biggest mountain in the Dragon Empire. It is basically a crash course task for young minotaurs in his tribe as they much face the rest of the world.

I really like the idea of his character, as soon as I had the idea set in mind I started sketching him a lot. Here are a few ones that I really liked

Let me know what you think, I've been in a real fantasy adventure mood lately so I'll probably draw some more fantasy characters in the near future.

I know this is old now but oh man, I love him. I support him and his tree.

Also I feel you on the redcaps, man, eesh. GM scooped a handful of those out as our last fight at level 1 and brought my fighter down to 1HP and knocked like two others unconscious..

While I absolutely adore the 'is carrying a tree around' One Unique Thing, it might be worth mentioning that if it's a tradition of his tribe, it's not really /unique/ unless there's something special about the tree itself.

Of course, that's the kind of hook a DM can go absolutely *nuts* with, way down the line.

As far as Unique Things go I also consider an ultimate goal or motive to be just as important as a character quirk, so even if it's not within the world completely unique, it still gives a lot of roleplay opportunities when you're on a spiritual journey of self discover by lugging a tree to hell and back.

Also if my DM does bring my tribe in, I'm sure it will be hilarious. He expanded upon a lot of character backgrounds in the past and done a pretty good job at it
