You may remember Aiyashi from a portrait I drew a long time ago, this is Aiyasha's twin brother. He is an elf. This is the scene where he is engaged in battle against a fire mage, trying to protect Miakai's mother. This is a part of his back story, before he looses his sight.Coloring info
The elf looking at us: He has silvery light blue hair like his twin sister, Aiyasha. His eyes are blue as well. you can see Aiyasha's colors here:
The Fire Master facing away: No defined colors.

Ok, it is time for the next coloring contest, and this is one of the images used!
Why so many lines this year? Well that is because, as some of you may already know, I am working on trying to make a coloring book, and all these lines will be for that book. I plan on including tutorials and a few how to elements to it as well,a s a little bit about my world, to make it more interactive and informative as well.
As it is, I believe I have enough lines, but I am not sure if I have enough of the variety of lines that I was looking for. I have some tutorials, as you know, but before I can use them in a book, I need a few more and I need to refine them. But I can say this, all the lines included in this poll are going to be in the book--full sized.

I love all the detail in this one! I think I'll give colouring it a shot.
I'd just like to know some things about the characters before I start, so I can represent them accurately. (:
Is there a backstory to this scene?( Reading the description, it sounds like this is based off a scene from a story you wrote- is that true? I'd like to hear some more!)
Also, does Aiyashi's brother have the power to control vines? That's what it looks like, but I'm not sure, haha. And those things on his thighs- what are those? Some sort of metal plating/guard? Or maybe it's just a tough material like leather?
Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to go and colour it completely wrong, ahah.

Well the guy whose back is to us, he is a fire master, and a dragon slayer, and the elf guy facing us is trying to stop him from attacking a mother dragon and her baby. These two do have a history of getting in one another's way. That is about it for the back story here.
Aiyashi is the brother, Aiyasha is the Sister. Aiyashi controls the plants by communicating with them... he doesn't force the plants into submission, he coheres them into cooperation with his will. Aiyasha has a little bit of the same ability to commune with plants, but she doesn't get them to do her bidding. Instead, her strength is with animals... particularly wolves.
The other guy in this picture is more of a force the fire to do his command type... He is not Aiyashi's brother so much as his rival.
The things on his arms and legs are guards... yes... they can be leather or metal or any other material you think would make good guards.
There really isn't any wrong with this picture... but if while you are coloring, you come to a part you aren't sure about, or can't make sense of, indicate it in a picture and notify me, and I will be happy to explain the lines... for example, if you aren't sure a part is skin or cloth...
I'm glad you are taking on this challenging set of lines and look forward to the results.

I have tried. it's like I see it, I see myself doing it. but then when the pen gets in the hand the hand won't do it. Its hard to explain. My sister said my people always looked like cartoon charictors. (sp?)

That is ok, I was like that for years, I just didn't give up. ^^ It is all about believing you can do it and having the will to follow through. It is no biggy if you don't but it is very satisfying when you do.
