While waiting for the Law of Talos results I completed a pile of sketches for friends, artists whose work I admire, and people who just plain have really neat characters.So. I give you...
Chucheeka Orenne from *Coelasquid because Squidders needs far more love, considering how awesome her characters are.
Keyah McInneas/McArwyng/Healowe from *Waddle-Penguin , who's almost impossibly cute.
The Chimbley Sweep from ~ConcentrationMoon , who I manage to keep drawing as a sort of junior nobby nobbs.
Yan Quian from =Iris-Zeible who's really hard to draw in my style - I can't manage to capture her ethereal quality. But she's still cute.
Merichi from *ZarathePirate whom I have fallen madly in love with. She can punch through the floor and puts beer in her cereal. What's NOT to love, seriously.
Newt from *Bilious , everyone's favourite stuttering mage with a slightly creepy moustache. BLEWT FOREVER.
Ophelia from *BlindKnight . Have you SEEN what blinders has been doing in *TheColosseum ? That's one reign of terror I advocate all the way. Also, I want her boots.
Rellik from ~exileddelusion who you will be seeing a LOT more of, considering he's Kit's opponent in Law of Talos. It's going to be a riot.
Annie Murietta from *BlackLillian . I don't think I really have to explain why I love Annie. Lil's work speaks for itself. Eloquently.
Karl from ~Unknown-person and if you haven't seen HIM yet you must be blind. He wrote a marvellous hero in the Climber, and now Karl's slashing his way into villainous history.
Tabby from ~rainyday is up against Ophelia in the semifinals. I've loved Tabby since round one, she's the sweetest thing, and uses her weightless powers so niftily.
Lilith from *Endling , because every tourney needs a villainess and Lilith's so delightful and elegant.
Steffi from *ShikakuSuika , because shikaku mentioned that Steffi was a normally proportioned person so i thought it would be fun to try drawing her non-chibified. Plus, I adore shikaku's work.
Mizuno from ~Cirihtt , because he's the most ADORABLE little waterboy around.
A LOT of these are girls - after The Colosseum's testosterone-dominated alumnus, i really felt the urge to draw some women to remind myself i still could.

Wow, this is really a pic of pure epicness; I laughed out loud when I saw Chimbley's :icongwahlz: look. I loved how you captured Lillith's maleficent smirk and Karl's Joker-esque crazy grin. And of course, I really enjoy your renition of Mizuno, you really do draw him well in your style, and I'm sure all his fangirls agree XD

why are your girls so manly?

I really like your drawings, but I just wonder why...

Partly it's the style - since I have a western style, the contrasted lack of big eyes and attempts at a squarer face make the girls look tougher. Partly it's because characters i've drawn here like merichi and annie have unconventional appearances - i still find them beautiful.
Mostly it's because a beautiful face, for me, is very hard to put personality on. So i trade some facial expression for attractiveness.

So fun to see all these characters done in your style! No two expressions are the same, and they all seem unique to their character.
I love how terrified Newt looks, standing next to Merichi.. and d'aw! Seeing Tabby all curled up there was such a pleasant surprise :3

My thoughts as I scrolled through the sketches from left to right, down, then left:
"Merichi... Mah boi, Chimbley! Haha, Newt Filinas looks so the way Bilious made him... Keyah has butterfly-control powers? Ah, Ophelia. Manic totally adapted these folks to her style... who's that girl with the striped socks?... Relik, Annie... mm, Manic really oughta illustrate some Victorian-era storybooks with hard-ass lady characters... Aw. Look out Mizuno, Arma's gonna peck your big shiny black eyes out... Awww, Tabby looks too cute!... *sees Karl monstrously lurking towards me and looking like a gigantic axe murderer* PUTANG INA!"
Those last two words are Tagalog. Beware of asking a Filipino loosely what those words mean because they are the most highly offensive slang swear in our language XD But I guess that just goes to show how well you've captured Karl, and everyone else here.
But seriously, seeing Karl after going through that sea of personality gave me a jump. The guy is too sinister. Also love how his axe, Arma, still has a shape of a raven.
