This is the template that I use to make my long-haired cat waggy tail icons. This is a free template for anyone to use to make your own waggy tail icons. Plenty of examples of it in action can be seen in my gallery. If you do use it I'd love you to leave me link in the comments so I can see what you make with it.

I've added a rough guide on how to animate this. It's not the exact method I use, but it's an easy way to get a good flowing animation with a small file size.

To use this template:

1. Colour in the eight frames, and save each frame individually as gif files.

2. Save the frames as follows: Top row as frame 1, 2, 3, and 4, and bottom row as frame 5, 6, 7 and 8.

How to animate:

Frames order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 7, 8, 7, 1, 6, 5, 6, 1, 7, 8, 7.

Frames time: Different animator programmes might have different time allowances, but basically all the frames should be the same length in time (I use 0.1 sec) except for the second, third, fourth and fifth frame which should be half the time (0.05 for me).
