I saw this lovely little white parakeet at the pet store...and GOSH do i want her! I've always wanted a bird.....I know all the costs/benefits of having a bird yadda yadda (hell I've been managing my own money since I was like 13 BU) and not just the monetary costs either. I know about what these kinds of birds like/don't like, and i know how to socialize them blahblah.
and with my depression, she would be one more thing to occupy my time, and that's what helps! stability and something to work at everyday and entertain my time, and she sure would do that with out stressing me out!
of course my mom doesn't think it's a good idea (ONLY because SHE wouldn't want a bird as a pet) she just looks at me blankly like she isn't listening.......like I'm an idiot
......sigh..

Well, how I won the argument of keeping my birdy is pets teach responsibility and the fact that I couldn't take back the bird to the pet shop XD

hm.....being a parent then, she prolly hasn't given you a good reason as to why you can't have it.
Maybe since you just moved(you did, right?)she wants to get settled before getting a pet?

they are really unique pets. ><
for the larger birds, or birds at all, i think you should have a permit.
most of my birds are rescue birds and it's sick the way they were previously treated. /:

ooh yes, well larger bird specifically, like parrots, they live so long, people probably didn't think of the "consequence" of a pet living 50 years and were idiots.
But no worries! I love all my pets ohsomuch I would never abuse a lovely little bird if ever I got one~
