Apparently not "Post Ankara" enough that the little boy can't get a helium filled balloon. A balloon and helium itself are both indications of a continued manufacturing society. I get that some things will be left-overs from before the fall (like his clothes), but a helium filled balloon has a very short lifespan - before the helium becomes depleted. The growth tends to suggest approximately 20-40 years have passed.

I like the tank being front and center at the door, but no evidence of munitions craters or scorch marks near it??

It might be fatalistic of me but I like post apocalyptic scenes, so this resonates with me on a few levels. It's always interesting to me how people view the post apocalyptic concept in different ways...

If everything would be logicly correct, could we call this an art? Thank u for valuable comment

Aha! You are going to use that form of riposte, eh? Okay, fair enough, but don't they also say "art imitates life?" and therefore, couldn't art be "logically correct?"

Its depend on peoples perspective. So how can we describe the surrealism. According to them (art academies etc.) Da Vinci isnt an artist. Re u agree with them? According to me art come from inside. And my inside saying " There is always a hope" That boy and his balloon are that hope.

Okay, I see your point. As you said, I guess it depends on people's perspectives. The older I get, the less I see rationale for surrealistic art, or at least unreal possibilities. I have less time for elephants with wings, and while I might note creative ability for doing such, it holds less appeal for me. The older I get, the harder it is for me to legitimize outlandish concepts.
I could create something so otherworldly that there is no metaphor to describe or understand it, but then how much would anybody else appreciate it? The less ...human... something is, the less people will connect to it; physically nor emotionally. At that point, that I created something so foreign I would ask, to what point is it? It's an exercize in futility, and nothing more.

To steer this back to the subject of your artwork, I am not so dead inside that I too would like to hope life would exist after an apocalyptic fall, but I think it pushes incredulity to think "high technology/mechanization" would be possible in a 'short' time afterwards. If the boy held a low technology toy like a bat, or if he carried a rough semblance to a ball, I wouldn't have said anything; because it represents a realistic possibility. Better; if it was two boys from different ethnic origins playing with the rough semblance to a ball; together. Perhaps even descendents from the soldiers who fought here (but I suppose some would suggest that too is an unrealistic possibility. heh).

I don't demand that all art make logic, I just note when I see art "jumps the shark" (pushes a concept beyond belief).

Do you see my point?
