Edie Brickell "What I am"Took me about 10 days of work (on and off) to finish - I'm busy, busy, busy.
Finally I'm happy with the hair. I think I've found the right technique, I only need to improve it.
I've colored the image a bit, since the original was b/w and my last work was also a grayscale...

your vector skills are simply awesome, i have become really fond of vector but i have only really been usinng illustrator properly for a few months, i love the smoothness of your vector, you must have 1000's of layers!! i bet it took you ages to keep them all in the right order, i know that can become very frustrating!

I use pen tool (in Photoshop or Illustrator as well) to create clean color blocks. Sometimes I use gradients - on this one i used gradiets to make jewellery and to make her lower part of the body darker than the upper.
Tips? Patience, lots of it.

I've been looking for a job as a graphic designer for the last 6 months, but it's not so easy here, in Poland ("you have to be 20 years old and have 15 years of experience" as they say 
And yes, I know vectors are resizable.
