Description
An original character of mine, who I based off of and named after my late pet tarantula from when I was still in school. I've involved her in several different RPs on different sites, and she's always been a favorite of mine. This particular style is one I'm trying to develop for the sake of not stagnating in how I draw, and it seems to be turning out well. Done with Prismacolor brush markers and a Prismacolor soft lead white colored pencil.Related content

Thanks! I tried to make the eyes like an actual tarantula's (beady, solid black, and shiny as a piece of tumbled, polished onyx), and the kind of tarantula Agatha was is reflected in her hair; she was a Chilean rose-hair, who are typically known for being very docile, but also kinda being... odd.

I think tarantula's are really fascinating. A while ago I ended up on a tarantula keepers youtube page, he had so many different kinds and they were so pretty.

They're odd in that they almost always have some behavioral quirk. Agatha, for example, had memorized the layout of her terrarium, and so whenever I brought her crickets, she would get whatever she wanted to eat at the time, and when she was hungry again, she moved everything around to flush them out. She'd grab whatever she wanted then, and once she was finished, she put everything back where it used to be.
