I did this a while back actually, before starting The Wanderer.
Did a lot of research on Wikipedia and Google images to get the basic wolf poses that I think every animal artist should be familiar with.
Now, I've seen a lot of people draw wolves doing impossible stuff, I mean have you heard of anatomy. You don't need to make them super complicated and stuff, just keep in mind anatomy, structure and proportions! If you're a beginner, try referencing and look at simple anatomy tutorials that are flooding the site

Well, these aren't my best wolves (obviously..) they are the most half-assed sketches I could produce I just want to be seeing the poses and maybe how the fur goes, but that's about it. At least you guys get a peek at the first stages of my drawing process - the sketch! It's a long way from there to the finished image but this only goes as far as pose references!

I made these for myself but please feel free to reference as long as you credit me!
