I've realized i never did a warhammer 40k fanart which is weird because I really like the setting, so...this ugly motherfucker is Eldricht.
I tried some new brushes and things that i believe i've learned
from the lessons dictated by the awesome
I like the character, so is probable that you will suffer more images from him in the future.

It's the eyes, the scars, and his hair cut. They make him look like a badass. Not to mention that amazing facial stubble he has going on. Heh.

Ah! There you finished him. It looked already good, eventhou it was a sketch, but now in fulldrawn-version it looks even better. The eyes, I really love 'em.
I'm probably a bad person for critiques, because I see nothing that could be done better, but I'm going to look it up over and over, maybe I find something.
Anyway, good job. (May it be that his hair cut changed?)

yes, i changed his hair because he looked 'goofy' i think it depicts better the character he has now, i changed the lighting on his face too and the way i was rendering his armor.

Judging by those really blackened eyes you made him out to almost be like a Raven Guard. A nice effort for the first attempt, especially with the face and the attempts at the fuckhueg pauldrons.

Nope, he's a Nightlord, hence the title 'i have come for you'
but i get its hard to make him out without any chapter reference, i will get better at them i guess, this was more an excersice in light and different brush usage than anything else, but as stated, i like the character; i will probably make him in full body nect time (and perhaps add a little ornamentation to his armor, tho he hates those)

Those really dark eyes...it deceived me since that's often the gene-seed trait of the Raven Guard.
That and I'm stuck with the Ave Dominus Nox quip from Zso Sahaal.

yup, thats Zso Sahaal; Nightlords have two mantras one is 'Ave Dominus Nox' in honor to their father as you well put it, and the other is 'We have come for you'.
this one is more like a Talos kinda dude, from the 'soul hunter' novel, he's huge and, eh, i've already started sketching; you can see it here [link] its not much but i plan to make a good render out of it, lots of detail to work on, tho.

But yeah slaine's was defo Zso and I see now that you're more Talos. God, I forget if we even read about his face in all this but now that you mention it the Night Lords did hail from an eternally dark planet, Nostromo.

well, the reason i choose this chapter to paint is because i really fucking like them, they are not loyalists and they are not full bent chaos fanboys either (well, most of them aren't) they are really disciplined, really good at fear tactics and keep a cool head when killing. also they are fighting a lost war, always losing numbers, outgunned, outnumbered and yet they go on doing their thing, not looking back, not lamenting, i wouldn't say that is 'noble' but is an attitude i like.
also, he has no helmet because all depictions of nightlords i've seen so far always pass on the detail that their eyes are fucking tar pits, as you say, Nostramo was a poor planet that didn't have enough money to buy a decent sun, so they were locked in perpetual night, and i wanted to do a 'proper' one, if that's even possible.

You picked an excellent Legion. Them, the Iron Warriors, and a few others I can actually like in Chaos. Anything Word Bearer or Black Legion got to fucking Chaos moralfag for me. Interestingly enough though the Night Lords, as Simon Spurrier wrote, had a Primarch who simply suffered from his "ends justify the means" in regards to how close they were to slipping over the edge for justice. The Night Lords never truly worshipped Chaos but saw it only a convenience and yes their situation is increasingly desperate as compared to others, pissing off not only the Imperials but even the mighty Huron Blackheart himself. It's not noble, per se, but it's ground in a concept of justice as compared to the sick fucks of elsewhere.
It's good to note that, even if I confused it with Raven Guard given their similar nature of skin and eyes.

Heh, we could discuss about this for hours it seems, that's what's so great about wh40k, sadly i lack knowledge beyond this chapter, and i don't want to become a fanboy or something like that (which if i understand correctly this fandom has a lot of) but yeah, I really liked the novels, more the soul hunter ones than the 'hunter of the night' of Zso sahaal.
I like it how they fell from grace for doing the exact same thing that was asked so many times of them, and instead of going all emo they went 'fuck you' all over the emperor.
on a side note, im sure you're familiar with , do you have any idea of the process of art submission there? because for some reason i can't, i think it's time i start using these group things to make the things i do known.

Ideas for submitting? No problem. I'd just ask TD since he runs the thing. All you'd do is just submit the art when you go into the galleries and it'll likely get approved. If it takes longer than expected, ask directly via note or something.
