HOME PLANET: Ilus V, a planet of cold steel and light. It is an artificial planet with a capital city that has an easy population of a billion or more. It is fast moving, bright, and full of chaos at every bend. Most of the buildings seem as if they could peak up into the atmosphere, tall enough to touch the clouds if clouds existed there. There are beliefs this planet originated thousands of years ago by a race called the Voltan, but now it is a mixed hub of many different worlds.

If there’s one thing that’s true about Aphelion, it’s that he’ll let you know when you fuck up. For the most part, he’s pleasant, suave, and free to give compliments, but there are many ways to set him off. He is definitely not mean spirited, but he’s one of those people who will annoy you and bicker if you’re on his bad-mood radar. He would, however, much rather poke fun and have a good time. As a friend, he’s very attentive and likes checking up on the people he cares about.

HISTORY:

AEGIS units, by definition, are created with the purpose to protect others.

Aphelion was no different. In fact, he was assigned to protect an important figurehead of the Ilus system’s government from the beginning. He was a special model, filled to the brim with triggers and code that made him quicker to react than any organic life. For the most part, he was quietly loyal, and cared about the cause he was built for.

He kept catching himself losing focus, though, as he stood outside the bedroom of his charge. It kept happening in many places, moments of stray thought that blinked him away from the one-track mind of his duty. It scared him, if he let himself mull it over. One night, Aphelion jerked himself out of a wandering mind to the sound of a charge pistol coming from behind him. Emerging from the shadows, he caught a form hovering over the person he was put here to protect.

Now, several years after his escape from the planet (surely, he would’ve been destroyed), Aphelion has found luck on the spaceship, Penumbra. Blamed for the death and murder of a dead friend, he hopes to hide his past and move on.

INVENTORY:

    -          A data pad, for all your data needs.

    -          Some jewelry, namely a necklace and some rings. He occasionally wears them, but usually not.

    -          His KITE unit, which he used to use to scan perimeters as a bodyguard. This bird-like machine is just an extension of Aphelion, and not it’s own creature.

    -          A map of the stars, old and worn. Probably from some interstellar truckstop somewhere.
