Copper Mountain Ski Resort, October 2006.That's right, I actually went skiing as Captain Jack Sparrow. Had a helluva good time too. I figure he just swapped one body of water for another... albeit slightly frozen.
Interestingly enough, my coat is waterproof, and my dreadlocks are actually made of wool, so it was quite warm and comfy. Also, tri-corn hats are surprisingly aerodynamic.

That's just awesome. Just wondering, did you have any trouble with fangirls? I know a couple of people who would have glomped you seeing you dressed like that.
Great work on the costume though. Looks very, very authentic.
The snow looks pretty good. I've skied Steamboat in Colorado though. We usually go to Utah because my dad used to live there or New Mexico because it's really close, but I'm really wanted to get back to the Colorado Rockies.
Anyway, great costume...and now I really want to go skiing again.

Copper Mountain is definately one of my favorite resorts. Great terrain. And the snow wasn't bad at all that day, considering it was the first day of the season.

Heh, no I don't mind at all. Hell, it wasn't even really my idea. A friend of mine brought it up one day, and I loved it, so she and I both dressed up. There are pictures of her as well somewhere. I'll have to find some of her or of both of us and put them up.

Heh, yes to all. That picture was actually taken at the very top of the pommel lift. I used to go to Copper a lot, but now not as much, because Loveland is closer and more locally oriented. Still, we had a blast doing that. My friend Christine went with me as a pirate too, and she took this picture.

Nice, Yeah I forgot you live in Golden (I was up there last week for a karate tourn), right...? Yeah then Loveland is closer. Thats so cool... I would think your hat would fly off. Blah I tryed snowboarding at copper like 3 weeks ago and like almost broke my colar bone, so I did't feel like skiing this week. Can you do any parks? That would be like rocking to see Jack Sparrow doing a rail

Heh, naw I'm terribley at terrain parks, and I'd be totally terrified to do a rail. 'Sides, I'm afraid of ruining my skis.
Anyway yeah, I totally live in Golden. And as for the hat, it didn't because my wig makes my head so big that it's really tight, so it stayed on quite well.

It was awesome, it wat it was!
And it was also the day after Haloween or somesuch, so it wasn't quite as random as you might think. Still, we got a lot of strange looks. It rocked.
