Description
This is actually just a small piece of an item I put in scraps. The scan turned out really badly, but I thought this part turned out well enough to submit it as a serious deviation. It's just a sword influenced by the Rohirrim swords from Peter Jackson's adaptation of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.Related content

heh, i love spatha style swords, which the blade is, and i am very fond of horse hilts found on the Rohirrim swords

Thanks! I was a big fan of the designs they created for Peter Jackson's Rohan - the swords in particular. They had a stout, businesslike quality, while also being subtly elegant and beautifully detailed. They always did seem to be somewhere between a gladius and a Dark Ages Scandinavian design, so yeah, I guess a spatha would be quite similar.

Yeah, I'm a pretty huge fan of the films, though I'm ashamed to admit that I never finished reading the trilogy.
