Sadly, I had no specific workflow for this one. It's all trial and error.

I went through many re-models and re-renders until I got the lights, the bloom effects and the shapes right. I believe this is the 6th version of the same scene on my hard drive.

You may have inspired a new obsession then -- I like the effect so much I'll see if I can re-create it with just nodes alone. (Never had any luck getting LuxRender to work.)
