Description
After being stuck in the tower for weeks, the princess no longer had the patience to wait for a prince to rescue her, so she decided to escape the tower on her own. That was a little more troublesome than she had expected, though.This is another one of my old ideas, and I've wanted to make a proper painting out of it for years. Well, now I have, and despite struggling with the tower more than I like to admit, I really enjoyed working on this. Ah, how I enjoy illustrating fairytales (or that is, illustrating how I think fairytales should be)

I love the expressions of the princess and the dragon! They're little touches that, to me, really makes this piece special. It ties everything together so well, and really helps to set the tone of the picture!

Thank you! I also find facial expressions very important to tell a story visually, so I try to use them as much as possible

Jeg sleit med hele arkitekturen generelt. Fant ut at det ikke er sΓ₯ veeeeldig lurt Γ₯ fΓΈrst tegne karakterene som bruker bygningen, for sΓ₯ Γ₯ prΓΈve Γ₯ tegne noe fungerende arkitektur rundt dem

aha, neat painting. I really love the scenery - the background, brickwork and vines really do it for me.
I also like the whole atmosphere created - the sort of not-quite serious, yet somewhat forboding (and almost comical) mood of a good fairytale (as you say - how the should be)
