I had to get my mind off a troublesome picture I've been working on lately, so I thought it would help to just doodle something else for a while. This meme was perfect for that! It is my first meme ever, but I had very much fun doing it, so I'm quite sure it is not the last one
I don't really have any original characters of my own, so I decided to draw my all time favourite hero instead: the magnificent Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings! And of course he's based on Viggo Mortensen from the movies.
I looked at a few pictures from the Simpsons, South Park, Disney and Muppet Show to get the styles somewhat right, though I don't think Aragorn fit very well in all of those styles.
Also, I pretty much never draw anime, so I probably messed that one up :/Aragorn belongs to J. R. R. Tolkien.

I have to amit, I kinda disagree with the 'Disney doesn't suit Aragorn' thing. I think it does, but hey, it's up to you. Actually, is it me or does it he look like Flynn Rider? I do agree though, the Muppet one doesn't-it's actually really freaky. Anyway this is really good.

Also, it's impossible to mess up anime as long as you exaggerate the eyes and don't give him more than a triangle for the nose and mouth. In fact, you can pretty much trace every one of his features and every animetard will praise you for your "originality."

I think I should just rename the Disney-Aragorn "Jesus", seeing as quite a few people make that comparison
And yeah, anime is pretty much the same stuff drawn by different artists. It is a style though, and my hand is simply not very familiar with it. Oh well, I guess it looks kinda anime-ish at least ^^

FINALLY, someone from my corner of town who has always imagined what characters like this would look like. have to say, Disney Elessar looks almost like Christ and don't be so quick to dismiss Marvel Estel too quickly. He almost has a Disney's Gargoyles quality to himself.

Hehe, it is indeed very interesting to see how a character like Aragorn could turn out with different drawing styles. And there are quite a few people who have mentioned that the Disney Aragorn looks like Jesus
