Description
It is near impossible to speak of love and not refer to it as the most incredible gift God ever bestowed upon mankind. For that it is-a gift we never deserved but should always cherish.Love is many things in many forms. Love is two kindergarten girls braiding each other’s pigtails on the playground. Love is that hopeful look in a puppy’s eyes as its master’s car pulls slowly into the driveway. Love is a father pulling his tearstained daughter onto his lap to kiss her fears away when the nasty monsters in her room are just too much to bare. Love is a poor teacher, sharing her knowledge with young ones who would rather be in bed, because she cares enough to make men and women out of them. Love is a husband, coming home with an armful of cold medicine and ice cream for his ill wife, after he has had a long day in the office. Greatest of all, love is when Christ laid His life on the line for our souls, taking our sins upon Him, humbling Himself to death for all of His beloved children.
Obviously, love manifests itself in many different relationships between many different subjects. However, love doesn’t just show up in a fine array of relationships, but also forms.
Sometimes it is soft and gentle, nearly lulling one to sleep. At such times it can be comforting, tender, compassionate, and very kind. Like a dear old couple late at night, sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch reading classical books. Other times it is so overwhelming and empowering, it literally will take your breath away. Then, love is passionate, fiery, crazy, and elating! Think of the moment the church doors swing open, and there stands the euphoric bride, glowing in all her majesty. What does the groom do? He melts, knees knocking, tears welling up in his eyes, for he has just laid eyes on the most glorious site under Heaven. Love can be an unexpected kiss on the shoulder, or a sweet little child bringing daisies home for Mommy to place in a vase.
People tend to run from love because it is so intense, and if abused, it can be the most painful scar left on any being. Some people claim love with every agreeable soul, and than are baffled and sorrowful to discover that love is more rare than they might think. Romantic, eternal love will not burst out a million times in one’s lifetime. The word is so misused and overused that some of its splendor has been lost on careless ears. Other times, love is truly found, but not held on to long enough. People assume that love alone will solve all problems. That love is perfect. That love, in and of its self, will end all trials and tribulations. It won’t. It can’t. The two who find love must work for the perfection they seek, and even then it will only be found with our Father in Heaven, the Giver, Maker, and Keeper of love-He who is Love.
I know all of this, because once I thought I had found love, when really all I had stumbled on was desperation. Once I searched for love, and found despair. Then, once I gave up, and God placed love before me in the most unconventional time, and I have never been full of more joy since. Once, a long time ago, my Father loved me enough to die for me.
Love. It is not just a feeling. It is a choice. Love may chase you down through out your life, but you have the power to deny it, despite its strength. You must choose to love. Which means, you also must choose not to love. So many marriages fail, because the people fail to open their arms and accept a love that is waiting patiently.
Love. Cannot be found by choice, but must be accepted by choice. Sit back. Let love find you. And when it does, accept it whole-heartedly.
Because…
Love. Is. Worth. It.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

interesting. i agree that you cannot choose to Find love, but rather that it finds you. however i also believe that you cannot choose To love, for you cannot make yourself love someone when you don't, and likewise you cannot make yourself stop loving someone if you do.
other than that i agree whole heartedly with everything else you've said. love truly is worth the wait, because even if it doesn't last forever, the beautiful memory will always remain.
