A ways away a bridge does lay,That passes between the here and now,
Into a world where nature sleeps,
And the sweetest harmony is found.
A roaring river that bridge does cross,
Where deep red Sirens gently sing,
Hear them now, so soft and clear,
Hear fallen angels whispering.
Now turn your back and look away,
Turn the page and say so long,
Head not to these broken chants,
Follow me and sing my song.
For if we burn this bridge of old,
And let the rivers swallow it whole,
And if we turn our backs and run,
Maybe we can rekindle lost souls…
Maybe, just maybe,
There’s life after death,
Maybe, just maybe,
There’s hope after defeat.
Maybe, just maybe,
Demons too grow old,
And die away,
Beneath our feet.
Let’s outlive the fallen.

Yes, the meaning is very deep and it touched my soul. My daughter was in a terrible car accident and died in December. This touched me in ways you probably will never know... at least I hope you don't!

Thank you again, dear. It is pain beyond words and belief. I've buried both my mother and father, but this one makes all the pain from both of those pale in comparison. I can't even cry.. not just cry. When it hits me, when I can't ignore it any more, I "melt down"... it's the only way I can describe it. One of these days, when I can handle the pain, I will probably be writing about it. Right now I can't even do that. BTW, my journals (most of them) tell of what happened, if you want to read them. If not, believe me, I understand.

I would love to read them. I actually just "Watched" you. You are a very kind person, and I'm flattered you would talk to a youngster like me. This poem is left to any interpretation in hopes that it could reach into the souls of anyone. For me, it has it's own bitter sweet meaning that I would write about as well...but it's not my story to tell if you know what I mean.
Thank you...your words are encouraging and touching. I know there will always be pain, and I know I will never know...but I hope you know pain reaps the greatest joy...I hope this isn't insulting for me to say as a Christian if you are not...but one day all will be well.

You know, age doesn't really have a lot to do with things. Hearts are what matter. I appreciate the compliment about being kind. I try to be, because I don't like people being unkind to me... I try to treat others as I would want to be treated myself. And I do know what you mean about it not being your story to tell.

Awww... thank you so much. I don't know if she was or not. Sometimes I wonder... but I think that the mother in us always wonders. I will be raising my granddaughters now, so I hope I've learned a thing or two about motherhood along the way.
