Description No one expected a man so young,
To handle a poor and troubled son,
Yet even a foe had never thought,
A battle with liquor would be fought,
Thrown into the cold with no place to go,
He left his family to fight the blows,
A wee little babe, just been born,
Would never know he left with scorn,
Or hear of the months she lived without,
Her father's will to come about,
So in the days he fled to bars,
She aged a year with him afar,
For on the day one candle was blown,
He was still unsure of home,
And though now with her is he,
Happy, loving, and carefree,
She cannot seem to dismiss,
The moments together that he missed,
Thus with every received butterfly kiss,
She wonders if her ignorance was bliss?
