why am I doing this oof (yes i'm making him take after his great uncle batfrost)

name: Coalkit -> Coalpaw -> Coalroot: His rooted, down-to-earth nature and level head. / Coalgaze: His hunting skills and observational skills. / Coalsnap: His exceptional fighting skills and tendency to flick his tail when agitated or anxious. / Coalsong: In honor of Thrushsong.

personality:

Intelligent: Coalkit's intelligence seems to be one of his defining features. He loves experimenting, and tends to hang around older cats to learn things. He often points out interesting little tidbits of information that may not seem especially useful at the time, but can be in especially specialized situations.
Calm: Coalkit tends to be the calmer cat of the family. He's fairly relaxed under pressure, and it's quite hard to get a solid reaction out of him. It can be annoying to his siblings, but it's funny to him.
Patient: Coalkit can wait for something for what seems like forever. He's patient to a tee- making him a fantastic future hunter.

Observant: Coalkit notices things others might not. Whether it'd be an odd habit from a friend of his, or if something's off in general- he'll notice it. He's perfect at noticing smaller details, even when fighting or hunting. Anything that reveals a weak spot is easily noticed by this tom.
Curious: Much like his great uncle, Coalkit's very, very curious, and will often look too far into things and obsess to figure out how they work- this is true for a lot of interests of his- whether it be something dangerous like monsters, or something safer like the changing of seasons, Coalkit wants to know how it works.
Stoic: Coalkit's more of a serious cat, and while he occasionally loosens up, he's otherwise very serious with a calmer expression. It's hard to read him because of this, and he tends to be somewhat quieter because of this.
Jokester: Despite Coalkit's apparent serious nature, he cracks jokes oddly often- though this is mostly once you get him alone. He normally jokes to cover up any anxiety he might be feeling, though he also jokes just to make others happy. It's rare to see this side of him, but it's pleasant once you do.
Ascetic: Coalkit is very hard on himself. If he doesn't succeed... Time to obsess over what he isn't understanding and practice it almost to the point of injuring himself. He's obsessed with being the best either way, and doesn't accept failure very easily. This drives him to become a great warrior, but can be worrying due to the common cuts or scuffs all over him.

Introverted: Coalkit is rarely, if ever, the one to initiate conversation. If you're going to meet him, you need to talk to him. He's very kind once you do get to know him- though he's fairly wary and hesitant up until then.
Guarded: It's hard to know what's going on with Coalkit. For some reason or another, he has trouble expressing his emotions- (In all honesty, he doesn't. He prioritizes the feelings and emotions of his siblings and rarely lets himself get caught up in his own head... He does have his own issues, though.)- he just hates talking about them. Cats who ask him will more often than not be pushed away.
Distant: This is primarily emotionally, to be honest. He's not distant from his family, but he's often distant concerning other cats. It's hard to get to know him, and it's hard to learn about him since he seems fairly closed off to everybody but his siblings.

*Note that he will be trans (surprising I know) so the first few weeks of RPing him he will be referred as female, though I'm going to refer to him as male OOC.

Relationship with Family: 
[ Brightstream | Mother ]
   "My mom. She was born half-clan, like I am. She's very adventurous, and is a fantastic warrior. I look up to her... she's a good mom. She's a strong, RiverClan warrior... I hope that one day I'll be as good a swimmer as she is!"
- He looks up to his mother a lot but is by no means a momma's kit... he's not a daddy's kit, either.
- He occasionally initiates a cuddle session but it's very rare.
- He loves to talk with his mother, and loves how attentive she is since she's a big sweetheart.
- If he's feeling upset, he'll go to her. He vents to her a lot.

[ Acornflower | Father ]
   "My dad. He was born in ShadowClan, and moved here to be with my mom. He's somewhat naive, from what I've heard... It can be a bit irritating, but above all, I love him."
- He loves his dad a lottttt
- Tends to talk to him if he's not doing too well overall. He doesn't like to bother his mom, and will go to Acorn first if he's available.
- Worries about him adjusting to RiverClan, since some cats seem to be disdainful.
- Tends to look more like his father in stature overall- overwhelmingly oriental.

[ Cinderkit | Sister ]
"She's bossy and rude. She can be extremely annoying, even if I'm aware she's just trying to do the best she can... Eh, she's still a pain in my tail."
- He loves Cinderkit, but tends to hang out more with Hawthorn since she's a pain.
- Despite this, he's as equally quick-minded, so he loves to playfully banter with her.

[ Hawthornkit | Brother ]
"Oh, brother, I wish you wouldn't let cats walk all over you. I love you, you're a great brother, but I hate seeing cats take advantage of you."
- Acts like he doesn't want cuddles 99% of the time but he definitely wants cuddles from his brother.
- He often steps up to protect him, though he's smaller and tends to have a poor self-image, as well.

Why you want this kit: Well... I wasn't aware of these kits at all! Mainly, I wanted a new kit to have a sort of start over, as well as the fact that I wanted another kit related to Batfrost (I figured the comparison would be interesting- Bright seeing her uncle's personality in her kit.).

Activity Level: Since I've started getting my homework balanced, I've been getting more active! I'd probably say I'm about a 7/10 on activity right now.

RP Example: Brightpaw sighed, glancing at him. "It's alright. I've been too tired to train, anyway. Some days I feels like I would rather just sleep." They meowed. "I suppose that's a part of mourning, though." They looked back at their paws. "Today I approached Snakestar. For some reason I still want his approval... For him to still treat me as though I'm his child. He disowned me and told me to never approach him again." They muttered. "I suppose my original fears of never being accepted came true, in a way. I don't feel as though I'm a significant part of the tribe without anchors, and those are lost now." They meowed. "It's even worse that I've been dreaming of times that they would come comfort me... like Snakestar assuring me that I was his child, or Thistlestrike trying to help me after Ashkit..." They trailed off, glancing back at Shylo. "It's just... hard. That my sadness seems so deep-rooted. I know it'll pass one day- Larkpaw and Tigerpaw have been helping greatly- but it's hard to focus on much else than that at the moment." They explained. "I felt as though I was beginning to heal, and then today happened."
(there's too much background to explain all of this but here's my RP style hgdfjsk)

Extras: Coal is an AFAB Tom- Just like his uncle Thrushsong! I also think I might give him sectoral heterochromia (a little wedge of his mother's amber-colored eyes in one eye.) or give him six toes on one paw.
