I wonder if the plot of Daughter of Discord is going to be that Screwball and Prince Mothball fall in love with each other and Chrysalis finds out about their love; so she tries to use Prince Mothball to get the love she craves and become more powerful. Since Screwball and Prince Mothball have a love as powerful as Discord and Fluttershy, she could become the most powerful creature with that love. Discord also finds out about their love and tries to separate Screwball and Prince Mothball for the sake of Equestria.Β
I'm not sure if this is the plot of the series, but it's just a guess.

That's an excellent theory. I would take some time to read the DoD story on DF's fimfiction page. It's totally worth it! And if you're strapped for time then I would just use Lion King 2 as a reference to fuel your storyline needs ^^
