Description Here's my take on Aragorn, a.k.a "Strider". I've taken inspiration from different versions of Aragorn in previous adaptions, but also from elsewhere. A while back I found a very interesting article comparing Aragorn and Robert E. Howard's Conan, as well as their respective cultures, and showed remarkable similarities between each of them. So I've taken slight some visual cues from artwork of Conan. The article can be found here: [link] I've also taken inspiration from how Christopher Lambert looked when he played Connor MacLeod in the original (and only good) "Highlander".

I decided to make the sword Anduril look a bit more extravagant and regal-looking. The basic design is inspired by the ones wielded by Templars during the Crusades. Because "Anduril" means "Flame of the West", I decided to put a flame-motif on the sword.

I think this iteration of Aragorn deserves some praise, as I have often myself felt that due to the rangers' rough lifestyle in the wild they would become something more than the Numenorean nobles and kings they descended from. I never thought of comparing Aragorn to Conan although I now admit that the similarities between the two and their heritage are at least remarkable.

So I do like this picture very much in fact, to me it states Aragorn's wild side, his ranger side, his "Strider" side which we only see really at the beginning of the books and then seldom after. And I also admit I fall for any good representation of Aragorn that doesn't look exactly like Viggo Mortenson
