Description
Although I tried to focus on speed over quality for this, I ended up spending 5 hours on it.This is my first time drawing Suki. She's pretty easy, although I'm not sure I've ever seen her smile that wide.

In the ending of the series, I was kinda mad at al ol Aangs friends, cause they basicly wanted this to happen.
People who says Ozai should've died hasn't even get this hole show.

Even the past avatars were telling Aang to kill Ozai, though. Plus, the whole energybending thing caused a lot of problems down the road.

I just think this would defeat half the purpose of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Β A lot of that show is about how bad wars are. Β It would hypocritical on Aang's part if he, who is basically a messenger of peace, took Ozai's life in cold blood (even if Ozai was an absolute monster). Β Who knows what Aang's mental condition would be like if he actually compromised his values that badly (and his values were quite good to begin with).

I get that argument, but I still think that Aang should have sacrificed his spiritual well-being to put a faster end to his battle with Ozai, and also to prevent future conflict in the decades to come. Keep in mind that by reintroducing energybending, he paved the way for Amon and the Equalists. Granted, there's no way Aang could have known this. I'm just saying he didn't make the best decision.

You need to watch the series again; you obviously missed the entire point of the show.

Well, as you said, it wasn't Aang who teached Amon energy-bending, so that really doesn't Count as his fault.

Hah hah, this is awesome! One could argue though, that what Aang did to Ozai in canon was actually worse, crueler, than merely taking his life. Still, this would've been awfully satisfying too.

WaspHacker In reply to Thewhiningrhino [2014-06-20 11:18:55 +0000 UTC]
Wath Aang did to Ozai auctually shows that He vlues life more than bending. He choosed to take away, wath he tought was, the least important thing from Ozai to stop his plans.
Take away his bending may seem cruel to some, but it was an act of mercy from Aangs side. He could so easely just have killed him, but choosed a more fair, jet harder, way.

Yeah, I read a fanfic in which Azula describes how awful Ozai must feel, and it was powerful. (BTW, have you watched the finale yet?)

Since, according to the show, "EVERYTHING is connected" (which also includes megalomaniacal Firelords), Aang killing Ozai would have been like killing a little bit of himself and a little bit of everything else too. But hey, who cares about a bit of self-harm if it's that much fun? ^_^

Maran-Zelde In reply to Andartha [2011-06-09 22:22:33 +0000 UTC]
Well, Avatar Yangchen did say that he should sacrifice his spiritual well-being for the sake of the world. I think it's a good trade-off, although he wouldn't be happy about it like he is in my comic. Call it exaggeration/artistic license.

*g*
A bit like having your knuckles all scraped and bloody after beating up the school-yard bully.
It hurts...but wow, it's worth it.
And hey, running through all the what-if scenarios, changing a variable here and there is half the fun of watching a series ^_^
