EDIT - I decided to try something out and sat for a moment on this piece again to tune this up. In my scraps is original version, before I did the touch-ups.I'd like to thank my audience who watched me livestreaming this piece. Viewers, thank you, it was great chatting with you, especially the famous =Isvoc !
Now about the picture. What I wanted to show here are pack rules. An adolescent pup wanted to challenge the alpha, now he will learn his place, pack around them, watching. In this pack are wild werewolves, due this no accesories, earrings, necklages, weapons or anything, just simple, like the nature made them.
I also made myself a big challenge with this piece. I wanted to not only render the fur of the werewolves right, but also do the background as good as them and play with the contrast, shadows and highlights. As for the Alpha werewolf, I didn't mean him to be a bad werewolf, I just wanted a nice dramatic contrast - him dark while the sun shining from behind, nice dark figure. Everything was painted with my imagination, I enjoyed painting this very much and I have to admit, I'm quite pleased with the result.
I have no idea what else to say... Ah, yeah. Thank you guyss for all your feedback, I really appreciate everything and I apologize you for my lack of activity. I'll try to change that, seriously. But now off to work, will come back later.

No quite, haha. The big dark wolf is the Alpha, and the smaller one is younger one becoming an adult at a try to take his place and the Alpha shows him his place, actually...

Interesting how you showed them all showing their submission in a variety of ways, even with the wolf about to nick off on a hunt. He's having second thoughts.
You did a fantastic job on the fur. The grass looks too regular for natural grass, but that's a nitpick, really.

I suppose you can't do anything about it now, but it could come in handy for the future.
You use a lot of texture in your works, which is great! But the fur and the grass are very similar, next time try branching out with different grass textures perhaps?

Loving the textures in this and all the movement. The poses on each of the werewolves, and the werewolves themselves, are excellent. You can almost frame each of them separately and get a dozen or so awesome stand-alone images. The composition really keeps your eye moving around the image. The black under painting/shadows makes me think of a velvet painting and really adds to the tactile feeling. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't at least place. Good luck!
Btw, we both seemed to have done the same theme. lol But rest assured that I had done my initial sketch long before I saw your image. >.<

Rly? When did you start? I started like just when I read about this contest. I did concept then initial sketch and lines and then I abandonned it, since I couldn't catch my motivation... and then in August I kicked my ass to move on this. We did similiar theme, but here the adolescent pup wanted to challenge the alpha to become an alpha himself, but the older wolf won't stand down and show him pack rules. I seen you have do an Alpha-Omega relationship.

I think I did the concept sketch around the beginning of August - soon after finding out about the contest. I did several quick sketches, exploring different themes before finally deciding on the one. And yes, in my picture the Omega probably did something to undermine the Alpha, or at least something that the Alpha perceived as insubordination and is trying to correct him. I was thinking that the Omega is probably just young and still learning pack dynamics and so is really only the Omega for that reason.
Your idea is very apparent in your image. lol That alpha certainly looks determined to kick that young wolf's butt!
