Character Species Combination: North American River Otter / Okarito Brown Kiwi (Lontra canadenis / Apteryx rowi)
Gender: Female

Personality: Rowi is very quiet, clever, and quick. She is an excellent swimmer, collects shells, and secretly wishes she could fly.

She also likes to watch her Tookie neighbors more than speak to them. Preferably from a distance. When they don't know it. With only the best intentions. Mostly.

My inspiration for the combination came primarily from Olive and Obi-Wan, the otters at work. The way they move is just adorable, and they are so frighteningly smart. The kiwi half fell nicely into place. Kiwis are my favorite, their feathers mixed well with otter hair, and they don't have wings, which means you can see the fun otter body all the time, and she can swim better without them. Yay!

When she is wet, her coat looks very otter-y, but when she is dry, you can tell it is finer and longer than an otter's. It is still insulated like an otter's, however. Her front feet are webbed and shaped very like her back feet, but they have only three toes and the rougher skin of the kiwi foot.
