We must transcend our beastly nature... Those who transcend can lead the light to those who were consumed by the dark.
I read a book by Rainer Maria Rilke [Letters to a Young Poet] and in a section he writes about transcendence "we are like fish that wish to fly".

Surrendering to the fish within the bird. Both of them can fly in their own medium. Rather as you can when painting, clearly your medium.
