To be perfectly honest, I never hated G1 Rodimus Prime. I know he could have been written better in the show, But I never hated him as a character. Plus he was pretty cool in the comics. Especially the IDW comics.

Both great leaders, but I'm leaning more towards Roddy these days. Optimus has had quite a few poor or boring portrayals lately (the Movies, Prime).

More than that, Optimus is often very... boring these days. The Prime version of the character barely developed him at all, with him just being a solemn stoic with little personality. Between that and the rampant overuse of the messiah theme with him, it's gotten old. Way old.
