Hey Marc, do you buy paper already ready to be carded? I've seen a lot of artists make these cards of characters but I've always wondered.
I am so limited as an artist, I stick to just freaking printer paper -__- Any recommendations for someone starting off like me?

These cards you see with logos, like X-Men, Spider-man and so on, are like that because these are released by Rittenhouse, a company which's got the licensing of these characters.
Instead of using printer paper (which really suck) you can buy yourself sheets of Bristol board and then trim them to the size you want.
There's also an option, which is going to [link] and buying online some of their products. Really cool

Well, that's a tough one, but U know what?
Say "F**k that! I'll just sit my ass here and draw! If it turns out good, great! If it doesn't, f**k that!" (you can say it internally, so you won't offend anyone who might be possibly listening to you)
Seriously, I think the trick is not to try too hard to fulfill expectations: yours or others. That kinda tangles you and the final result shows the tension you went through in the process.
Just draw a lot and in a calm, nice mood. That'll work in no time.

I think you nailed my problem right on the head, I'm always trying not to disappoint so whatever I draw, I usually end up tossing away. I will definitely try to be in a calmer mood when I sit down and start drawing!

Yeah, I mean, as long as you use a paper trimmed to a 2.5 in x 3.5 in size , voilรก: you got a blank sketchcard that you can draw on. And you can draw anything you want on it and keep to yourself or sell it.
But the ones I'm posting here that have logos and borders are like that because they are released by a company that comercializes sketchcards, Rittenhouse. They are licensed by Marvel (or somethin' like that) to use their characters and sell these cards on the market. So you have to work for Rittenhouse to get those and get paid to do this. Got it?

on drawing the cards, you can only draw on traditional way, you cant use computers?
what i really want is the logo and borders... you guys are so cool!

I'm not Rittenhouse staff. They hire me and other artists (freelance artists) to draw on these cards that already come to us with the logos printed on them. Got it?
And since they are sketchcards, no: no computers involved dude, sorry

that is sooooo cool man! im practising traditional drawing again but i use colored pencil 4 now. and i'm trying to stop enhancing them after i scan.
i wish i have some of the cards. that would be soooo cool! then i would be cool like you!
