Description
The project is not completed yet, but I can say it's a complete deviation!Papercraft Shin Mazinger Z from Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact! (it's a cool reboot of the classic, watch it
It's only a modified papercraft, capable of semi-articulation for poses and midway transformation
(where it tucks it's head inside the body).
Some parts are also detachable for potential accessories.
Black paper is an off-brand, which has some sort of nice matte finish to it
But well it's powdered so some black particles may spread to other parts.
White parts are made from standard copy paper (yes, those 70-85 gsm paper thins!
The rest is made using Avia Colors Premuim Colored Paper.
Designer: Goldenglue (for Mazinger Z papercraft)
Source: www.mypapercraft.net/mazinger-…
Editor: MarcGo26
Most of the credits goes to GoldenGlue due to this.
We may don't have those godly wings yet but I think we can do cool stuff with it
Here's some other shots for you to see!

So how exactly would you use a joint for a paperfigure?

Many! People like me sought for papermodel designs that matches to the diecast counterparts: being able to make poses, transforms, or having modular accessories, at the same time with high detail
This is a concept of mine to achieve such a thing, and I say it's challenging and rewarding I have to completely finish it sometime though

I'm amazed that it is possible to articulate a papercraft figure (the GR:Giant Robo papercrafts would make great action figures tbh)
Speaking of Mazinger, I wish Shin Great Mazinger got made, even if it was just a manga ;.;

Yes they do If you can make a plastic figure articulate, a paper figure can articulate too as long it uses a similar structure to perform such feat
I do agree, and Shin Mazinger Z with God Scrander is not an exception There's also Cardburn, the VWXYZ Dragon Catapult Dragon, and other robots that makes building paper models of these awesome. I do wonder what would Great Mazinger and new gimmicks look like when rebooted.

That's cool! (i think the GR figures might work. Look them up on paper craft websites and it seems at least some would work)
I think we would have gotten Great designed as it was in the Manga. IIRC Kouji did briefly pilot it in the old Grendizer anime films and in one of the manga's too. I'm sure the opening episode of the series would have lead up to Mazinger Z defeating the Hell Army, but then the remainder of the Myceanean army would have come out and fully destroy Shin Mazinger, thus whatever was left of the Photon labs rediscovering Blades old mecha (Great Mazinger) and get clarity on that legend and maybe a plot twist (Yashiro Imagawa sure likes his plot twists) in which one of the characters says that Blade was a prophecy of Kouji himself and that he was meant to pilot it....
tough to say what I can think of next?

Indeed, well although Namco Bandai made a "sequel" in Super Robot Wars it might be different in other's point of view

Hooray! Thanks Kitti, it's been a very long time when I made something like this

Wow... it's done! And boy, it looks really amazing!
(I am surprised that you decided to use a thin paper for the white parts of the legs. I thought only I used paper that thin... and I only used that because I have no other choice! )
It turned out so nice! I can't wait to see it "completely" finished! Keeping going!

I could use it because I know what I'm doing! To be honest, I'm so used upon using paper around 80 gsm, from where I start to where I'm now
Avia Colors Premium colored paper I used here was only 80 gsm!
Yet I can make crafts as tall as two school rulers. The way how I can do that is a mystery!
Annnnd hey thanks for watching my progresses! It makes me happy to build more!

I've tried to make things out of 80gsm paper in the past. And it was very hard work! The Timelord's Fob Watch
I didn't have a choice, however. I couldn't find heavier paper where I lived at that time. But things are better now. Once I find where my heavier paper is from my ... er... lots of boxes... I will be able to do more interesting builds again!
That's why it's inspiring to see yours. I don't know how you do it, but you can do it very, very well!
I hope to see more from you!

Hey it's still impressive though!
Annnnnnnd that sounds good! I can't go around that 80 gsm problem in my place but I have adapted well so that resolves it
Let's see and create good suff some time!

It's OK... it could have been a lot better if I had heavier paper, that's for sure.
And when I finally find them from my boxes-of-things... it's time to go back to building again.
But I will still be in awe of what you can do with the 80 gsm paper. That's human ingenuity speaking!
Hear, hear! Time for more creations!!!

It's my first time to adapt such design But hey thanks for appreciation!

You must succeed in this more than I do. I don't make notes or drawings, I just do the model right away, keeping a complete image of every detail and figure in my head.
Anyways, you're done well)
The main thing is not to be afraid to take risks and experiments.

Oh I do know what you mean I do aware that you don't use any 3d modeling software. Most of my planning were done when I'm modeling, then I'll debug the errors on the spot when building since real life results can be unpredictable.
Thanks, and yes I'll keep that in my head
