Well, I think all I can say is that this is a very good attempt to get an illustration of a person in a realistic format, I'm not sure what else I can say, except that maybe the contours of the face needs some additional work .

So first off I'd like to say this is a great piece, I love how you did the hair how it is flowing and well highlighted, he’s a rough, rugged handsome looking fellow and I think you nailed the semi-realism aspect of the picture. Things I think could be improved: The left side of the face (the eye and nose) look like they could be lasso’d and moved toward the center of the face by about 20 pixels and you’d get the eyes closer to the center of the face and shrink the bridge of the nose up quite a bit. As for the shading, it looks like you used a very soft brush, which is fine, but if you use a much smaller version of your soft brush around shadows and the eyes you’ll get a harder edge without it being too harsh and that’ll give you more detail in your piece. Don’t be afraid to go super dark on the shadows! I know it may look harsh at first but the contrast can really add a lot to a piece. Overall great job, and I think you should definitely keep putting out more pieces like this one as you’ll get to see over time how things change and that’s really cool  :devprojectcomment:
